On a private well there is no utility to appeal to, which is why the limits below are worth a minute.
The short of it
Information and routing, and nothing beyond that. PumpDepth repairs no wells, takes no part in any agreement you make with a contractor, and offers no view at all on the safety or the quality of water drawn from any private well.
Your agreement is with the contractor, not with us
PumpDepth introduces you to an independent business and takes no further part. What is agreed about pulling a pump, replacing a tank or anything else is agreed between the two of you.
We are not a party to it. We do not set prices, never see them, do not supervise the work and do not guarantee it. On well work in particular, where scope can change once equipment is out of the ground, that is worth being clear about in advance.
Nothing here is about your well
The state figures on this site are USGS counts of self-supplied population. They describe how many people in a state draw their own water. They say nothing about your well, its depth, its yield or its water, and no page here claims otherwise.
The testing intervals come from Penn State Extension and are reproduced as published. They are general guidance for well owners, not a schedule written for your property, and they can be revised.
Safety
A pressure switch and a pump circuit carry line voltage, and a well cap is not a lid to be lifted casually. Nothing here is an instruction to open either.

On a well, nobody else is going to notice it failing.If the pressure has gone or the pump is cycling, that is worth a call today rather than next week. Nor does it have to be the well; any plumbing work is routed the same way.
